Poacher Animagus Mask
Overview:
The poachers in Hogwarts Legacy have very sick designs and while I was playing through the game, I was hoping that you would be able to obtain their clothing, but sadly that’s not the case. So, I decided to make this and one other poacher mask mod. This is a replacement mod for the Legendary mask (which can be obtained by completing main quests). I got several people wanting me to make an Animagus mask, so here it is.
Installation:
Simply take the 3 pak files included in the zip and put them in your SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks folder.
Uninstallation:
Remove the pak files from your paks folder.
ISUSSES/BUGS PLEASE READ BEFORE INSTALLING/COMMENTING
I’ve learned a lot after my last mod, and while I’ve improved many aspects in this mod, it’s still not perfect and has issues
– the mask has been improved to be as compatible as possible with hoods and hats (right now)
– the weight distribution on the neck is messed up (the neck part moves with the head as acting as if there’s no weight painting)
– the hood and belt from the original model were removed (would have caused too many issues with hoods)
– texture kept intact (might cause issues)
– I don’t know how different hair styles will look with it.
– Female version has some ear clipping
– there might be unseen issues that might affect performance, such as the high poly count of the mask that is being used as a clothing item (please let me know about any major problems with this mod that I haven’t mentioned)
– you might get conflicts if you have a lot of other mods installed (probably a conflict with the chunk IDs of different mods overlapping)
– the female model seems to have more clipping issues with hats
FAQ
Q: Why does the neck move with the head? Can you fix it?
A: It’s a problem with the weight distribution, the game does not recognize the included skeleton with the model, and I’ve been told not to mess with the skeletons of models. I think this might be a larger problem with the game (but admittedly I don’t really know).
Q: Why is there’s clipping with some hats, but not with others?
A: The alterations I’ve made don’t seem to work with some hats. This is probably because some hats are more compatible with the base mask models and alterations were not needed. Also try taking off your scarf, that sometimes works for some reason.
Q: Can you add the hood back?
A: I probably won’t, I tried this mod with the hood, and there was no weight distribution. Also, the hood was way too purple. I don’t think it would match any clothing items. I tried to make this mod extra compatible with hoods to make up for that.
Q: Will you do other poacher masks?
A: I have already made one other (stalker mask). There are two left, I might do one more.
Q: Why did you pick the Legendary mask? Can you change it to some other mask?
A: The file directories were already mounted from my last mod, so it was just kinda easier to update those with the new models for this mod. I probably won’t change this to be another replacement for any other mask or head clothing item. Mostly because there are not a whole lot of head clothing items that aren’t obtained by random chance.
Q: Can you make *said random clothing mod*
A: Depending on the suggestion probably not, but commissions are welcome.
